FENCES .......
Someone's crossing your fences,
May not always be admissible,
As it indicates disregard of the wall,
Meant to guard one's privacy.
But there are also certain things,
That often break the rules,
And yet we tend to like them,
Despite their daring attitude.
Even when they come intruding
Without knocking at the door,
Crossing over the boundary wall,
With least regard for good manners.
Such as a bunch of blossoms,
Entering your side of the fence,
As if saying ' Good Morning'!
With all its sweet smiles!
And the soft fragrance drifting in,
From the neighbour's garden at night,
Where the shy jasmine is blooming,
Even though out of sight.
Can you ever stay indifferent,
To nature's sweet melodies,
Like the soft cooing of doves,
Or the song of a cuckoo bird?
Fences, indeed, are to be raised,
To ward off evil influences,
But the kind and selfless visitors,
Are welcome to enter, forever.
