We often fail to see,
The bright silver lining,
Hidden under the black clouds.
The darkness of despair,
Is too deep to penetrate,
And make us believe,
That something golden,
May really be lying,
In the very core of it.
The bird in the cage may sing,
With full-throated ease,
If only she nourishes the hope,
That someday, somehow,
The cage will be broken,
And she will again be blessed,
With the joy of flying to freedom,
In the boundless open sky,
And enjoy herself as before.
So, never let hope leave you,
Even when bruised by despair,
For the sun is sure to heal up,
Every bout of rain and thunder.
