THE SOLITARY TRAVELLER

                               Behold the lonely traveller,
                                Keeping its solitary  pace,
                               Across the endless firmament,
All through the night and day.

                             The journey must be tiring,
                              Lonesome and painstaking,
                             Traversing  a unique  itinerary,
That seems to be but unending.

                             Coming from its distant home,
With a different look each day,
                             Putting up a magnificent show,
                               On the seamless blue stage.

                              Beginning as a thin  Crescent,
Growing up in size each day,
It achieves full shape and size
                              After a fortnight's travelling.

With a face that is but supreme,
                            In beauty, charm, and elegance,
                            Has been mesmerising millions,
Ever since the beginning of time!

How often do I wish to speak,
                            To this   heavenly  traveller,
Knowing well it won't  heed me,
And move on indifferent as ever!
